This month we have invited Ms Anett Madi-Nator from Cyber Services, to deliver a talk on how to get ready for the General Data Protection regulations (GDPR).

THE TALK: Review and Move Forward with GDPR

May 25 is the enact date of General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR). It seems to be a Europe only regulations, but actually it affects businesses outside of Europe, including Hong Kong.

So a month after enforcement of GDPR, Anett Madi-Nator from Cyber Services will take the time to review and plan to move forward in GDPR again.

The topic of her talk includes:

  • What is the current status of GDPR enforcement
  • Why GDPR is important to HK market and what should we do now to determine whether we are within scope or not
  • How to use NIST 800 REV 53 US framework for implementing technical control

THE SPEAKER: Anett Madi-Nator, Cyber Services

Anett has more than a decade of experience in strategic and administrative layers of information security and cyber defence both as a private sector subject matter expert and as a government representative.

Anett takes a strong role in the European Cyber Security Organisation (ECSO) where she takes a lead of the working group responsible for cyber range and technical education programmes for the EU, and is a member of the ECSO Board Task Force on the future EU cybersecurity. She also participates at UN ITU regional Cyber Drill series, as cyber drill planner and coordinator

CSA HKM to support Video Ad Contest

Video Ad Contest 2018Cloud Security Alliance Hong Kong & Macau Chapter is supporting the “Stay Smart, Keep Cyber Scam Away” Video Ad Contest which is jointly organised by the Office of the Government Chief Information Officer, the Hong Kong Police Force and the Hong Kong Computer Emergency Response Team Coordination Centre.

The objective of the Video Ad Contest is to raise public awareness of cyber security and to encourage the adoption of security best practices, with a view to enhancing public concern about cyber scam.  Through creative and compelling video ad (not longer than 1 minute), participants can demonstrate how to guard against the cyber security threats we are facing and promote the best practices and smart tips to keep cyber scam away.

The prizes of the contest include iPhone 8, Apple Watch Nike+ Series 3, Polaroid R360 Camera, DJI Spark Fly More Combo, Nintendo Switch, Sphero bb-8 app-enabled droid, Cash Coupon and Book Coupon.  To recognise the active participation of schools, a “Most Supportive School Award” is available in the Secondary School and Primary School categories respectively.

Some that are further along in their cloud journeys leverage DevOps pipelines to increase their business agility, while others focus on cost savings and access to on-demand compute.

The Speaker

Based in Hong Kong, Billy Chuang is the Senior Manager, Systems Engineering of F5. He is responsible for technology innovation and management of business partner eco-system as well as the drive of F5’s business growth in the region.

Coming with 23 years of experience in the IT industry and extensive knowledge about traffic management, App security and ADC, he was one of the pioneers who worked on the first generation of Server Load Balancer, internet proxy and network firewall.

Billy holds a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology from National University of Ireland and is a certified Ethical Hacker (CEH).
